Out of curiousity, Is there a way to map what reasources are where? Basicly a overlay map to tell where the % of different reasoures are?

If not can I get some tips on FINDing reasources and not chasing a low %?

It's just luck, trial and error. One thing you can do is look to see where there is a big concentration of Heavy harvesters. That's usually a hotspot of some sort.

Thats also techniclly Classified as cheating and is a Violation of the Terms of Service... So dont even try to find a program that does this... plus its near impossable, because the Resouces Data is in constent flux each Day, and the Information is only stored on the SOE Servers...

Only method I have found that works for me is trial and error...

and depending on your locations also..

Some planets its easier than anything to find good spots, but finding the level ground for a harvesters thats the trick..

Heres some tips

1) Do a scan... Figure out witch direction the percents are going (they zigzag about 100m from the primary direction for the second waypont on average)

2) Drive out 500m (beyond the range of the MAX survey of a tool) Scan again

3) Do not delete the old waypoint (actully make new ones for your start and every so offten for your updates)

4) repeat

I use the above method to get a very general Idea of the direction its going in and then I just guess the path and head out... 85% of the time I guess correctly theres that 15% that I Missed it because it just Dogleged really badly...

Character Name: Chalvooka WOOKIEE FROM DAY ONE!! still a wookiee even after a small break from SWG!!! A Wookiee from before wookiee armors and ROTW or RTOS!!!!

Easy there tiger, I'm sure he wasn't talking about an external program that does this for you. He merely asked if someone can map it.

It can be done but I'll bet it would take someone a lot of time to drive around the map and compile a map that lists all percentages on the planet. I would think that by the time you're done, the resource will have shifted.

Interesting concept though. I think I'd like to see one just to see one. the limited grid size we have is cool, but I'd like to see it applied to a larger scale, like the whole planet.

But still, no foul here.

How cooincidental. I was thinking about this last night while trying to sleep....go figure.

Get a pad of graph paper and a pencil. All planets have 0,0 as their coordinate center and to to XY coords i believe what 6K to 10K(haven't tested so not positive) in either direction.

Starting at planet center of 0,0 and the center of your graph papersurvey. Follow your survey tool noting what the resource is at 0,0 and the resource % and coords of the highest resource of that vein. On your graph paper make a line or area mark or whatever using the X, Y Coords. X being right/left -/+ numbers. Y being up/down -/+ (negative on bottom) numbers. Basic linear graphing we all should have learned in high school algebra.

After a few resource veins you'll get a feel for the planetary layout for that spawn, and have a nice map of % bases and their locations.

From practice one resource vein tends to cover around 1K radius, give or take depending on how dense the resource is. I have seen pools go from 10% to 85% in 300m, and seen pools from 10% to 40% covering 3000m radius (that day sucked).

Anyway the idea is to help find resources by narrowing down veins places you have already been. I hate it when I follow the same vein three different times. Once you have them written down you can make an estimated guess at a better location, that doesn't follow the same vein.

yada yada yada blah blah blah........

All that being said and thinking about it unless I'm looking for that one peak 95% uber resource spawn chances are I'll just pick a random shuttleport to start at and follow the vein. If it hits 75% I drop harvesters, if not I just pick a random direction, drive 2000m and start over again. Tends to work out and I usually find a good spot within an hour. Actually tracking on paper would be much much longer in time spent and effort probably, not to mention that your map will only be good for about a week to two weeks before the spawn shifts and you get to start all over again.
