Howdy,

I need some help here please. I am master Fencer, Master Carbineer. I'm looking for othe ways to earn xp. I have the first column of scout filled, but i don't know if that is worth the time to keep maxing out and emptying at the village. So, can I go up the merchant tree of artisan and then to merchant and get some of a tree there or is that too many skill points? I also have 3 unlocks with three trees full... What to do? I would ideally like to keep both combat professions and then go up artisan tree to merchant tree to get the max xp there but i'm not sure that i can do it with skill points being a factor. Please help.

Thanks,

Mjames

Not sure but I've heard that crafting xp has the worst conversion rate.

If you're doing village crafting XP then the fastest way is still engineering 4 and craft windmills on practice mode. Merchant, although the best exchange rate, is far too slow even with a good product line in place.

no, the merchant xp is good conversion. don't you get a certain number of xp each day just for having it up?

thanks again,

Yes... that is what he said. But he also said that it is too slow to be worth anything.

Yes, you do. However even with 12 vendors up at Master Merchant, unless you're in a high traffic area the exp doesn't come in nearly as fast as it would for someone doing a craft grind. The only way to speed merchant up is more vendors (150 exp per hour, per vendor... that's 1800exp an hour at max) and to have people visit the vendors (50 exp per customer once within a 30min interval [I could be mistaken and it be 15 mins] which is 1200 exp per day with one visit every 1/2 hour.). A Master Merchant that's been around for a while and gets many many customers a day can make more, but not enough invalidate the point of this example.

(1800 x 24) + 1200 = 44400

That's 44400 MERCHANT exp per day, before conversion. Even at a 2:1 conversion rate, that's only 22200 FS per day. (I don't know if 2:1 is the real conversion rate, but using that to make a point)

Steady, but nowhere near fast. Nice supplemental exp, but not something to rely on primarily.

The advantage, is that as long as you're converting on a regular basis before the cap, you can earn the FS exp while you sleepor whatever. Just having the vendors up alone in a little shanty somewhere in BFE will bring in 43200 Merch exp, even if they never get a visitor.
