yep this is what people are doing...solo groups ftw.


but unless that level 80 person is actually with you, you still won't survive very long on any of the hard planets...you simply don't have the tools to defend yourself. it doesn't even always allow you enough time to get away from the baddies on the easy planets. maulers can still take you out and they will shoot your bike out from under you sometimes preventing a quick getaway.


and as crowded with red creatures places like dathomir are, you are in serious trouble if the resource you need is specific to that planet.


having bodyguards at your beck and call is asking alot from your combat buddies...a dedicated crafter is a nonstop job and you are asking someone to devote alot of time defending you.


so its a half solution at best, sorry to say

Last night I was incapped 3 times in arow and sent to the cloner by a Nyax Fiend that I inadvertantly stopped next to to check resource densities (I was speeder-surveying and wanted to see how good the spot was that I just passed). This was my own carelessness, and similar things have happened before, but I'm usually able to sneak away if I'm careful.The night before I was incapped twice in a row at the Lok spaceport while checking resource spawns, by Nym's Guard (radar all YELLOW!!!!!). I was quite fortunate to be within grovelling distance of thedoorway, or I'd probably be stuck on Lok forever (or at least until respeccing away all my crafting abilities).I'mstill trying to figure out what I did to offend that dude; I didn't know he was that friendly with Chunkers and Meatlumps. By the way, I'm CL14, having spent (wasted?) most of last weekend pumping up my two crafting wusses to novice elite combat status.


I'm quite certainthat crafters as a group have been intentionally made non-survivable. Perhaps we were always intended to be on the verge of poverty, and our success has incited the devs need to put things right in the galaxy. Perhaps all players were intended to have only one main crafting profession, maximum, and rely entirely on the profusion of other crafters for their component needs, on specialized miners for their resource needs, and on pure merchants for their distrubution channels.

And you all complain when resources are expensive. If we have to hire bodyguards, YOU the consumer pay for it.

I solo group for stuff on Tatooine, etc. It's a big help. However, it does squat when it comes to clearing out the lair sitting on the spot I need to put harvs on--or when something destroys my bike and I'mnext.
