It's getting hard. Skills now cost 3000 for surveying and 2000 for engineering. I'm a complete noob - non beta. That's 5000 - it seems ... a lot. The only things one can make that people would buy are completly flooded onto the market, and missions around 89 credits are just not getting there. At last count there were over 30 carbines, pistols etc on the bazaar.

Incidentally no matter how I try I cannot break even on off planet missions. The missions rewardis 390, but the ticket is 500 ....?

I'm sure I'm just going wrong somewhere. I tried making a bunch of fireworks as something different, but nobody seems interested L(

Try getting another player to teach you the skills most will do it for 50 credits

First off yes we complained about this all through Beta and its showing its ugly head here in force. Not enough items people want and not enough people who have money or need to buy what people are selling. Also the lack of people who want to train others. All I can say is find someone to share training costs with.Ihopeit may get better, but your right, right now it sticks to be a novice anything.

You can always trywhat I do.I run Delivery Missions around the Planet. If you check Mission Terminals on say Corellia, Naboo, or Tatoine you will find missions for 500-700 credits a piece that need you to deliver some data from that city to another city. Then its just a matter taking two missions to the same city, and using the shuttleport which costs about 120-180 per trip.. you make a bit of change there. But yer right whan ya say they really needed to think about this. I would love to see Raph's Statistics for in/out the past few days.

And Hang in there it seems people went into either Artisan or Marksman...

There's going to be a lot of money problems until the economy starts to balance itself out, which will probably take a couple weeks. As far as getting money goes, off planet missions aren't designed to make money. They are only meant to defray the cost of travelling to another planet. If you want missions that make money, destroy missions are the way to go, but you probably need to group up first. Otherwise, if you can only do delivery missions, delivery missions to other cities yield the most. It's usually only about 115 credits to take a shuttle to another city. If the city you're going to has multiple shuttleports, check each one to find the cheapest price. Hope this helps.

I never charge for training and I have never had anyone ask me for a tip when I get trained. I don't see the need for a fee. Both the teacher (Apprentice exp.) and the trainee get something out of the training.

I too am an artisan.... I am from beta all I can tell you is make survey tools and crafting devices they seem to sell pretty well also sell raw materials like metal and the like there is always a market for non artisans to buy supplies especially medics. as far as missions I suggest you get to tattoine or naboo and do the city ti city missions I know that missions from Theed to Kadarra on naboo pay around 750 each so you take two missions and spend about 250 to shouttle and then make 1500 on the other side. you just need to check mission specs so that they end in the same relative place like 10000 m to the w. after engineering 3 you can make harvesters and armor where there is more of a demand. if you plan on making armor train domestic arts one so you can make fiberplast panels. Artisan can be very rewarding especially when you get to weaponsmith or armorsmith and the like.

another thing if you are really desperate to learn a skill and you can't find a person to train you for free stand in a busy place and say I will pay X amount the first person to teach me X skill. I did it and had some one train me survey 3 for 500 rather than paying 3000 to the trainer

First, pool with other artists to train. Have on train with the npc trainer and then train the others.

Second, you do have a very large selection of items you can build. Each town, however, has its own personality so you will have to figure out what that town likes buying.

Because it is still early game, try to keep the bazzar stocked with a couple of Artisan starter kits (general crafting unit, and mineral survey device) and a couple of food and chem crafting units.

If the market is saturated with guns, make consumables like powerups and food. The problem here, is that most people don't understand exactly how beneficial the powerups are (or the food).

If you make powerups use good materials and experiment so that they are worth buying. The powerup should buf its primary stat by 18% or better.

One of the most common responses I get when selling the powerup is "No, I am going to wait unitl I get a better gun" -- and then I explain to them that the powerup is a consumable and only lasts 100 shots.

THERE IS NO DOWNSIDE, other than costs, to using a powerup on a crafted weapon. Our market does not understand that yet, but once they do, the demand for this will go up quite a bit. So making some and educating people may help.

Thanks guys for all the replies. I started on Talus and guess what, there are no city-city missions available on the terminals, just inner-city and inter-planetary. I guess the advise here is to head to naboo or tatooine asap then?

Glad to know that this is just a fledgling economy issue.

Another thing you can do is take Novice Marksman/Brawler and run a few Destroy missions from the city terminals. Since you are a crafter, as well, you'll be able to make your own weapons and powerups, and should be just fine. I'm playing an artisan on Corellia/Bloodfin with horrible physical stats (migrated them for crafting), and with what I've been able to make for myself, I have yet to be incapped or killed by anything conning white to me. Another perk to this is, if you take Novice scout as well, you'll be able to harvest yourself some Hide and Bone, which can be handy depending on what you wantto do with yourself in the elite tree. Another thing to bear in mind - You always have the option of surrendering skill boxes. Novice Artisan/Souct/Marksman costs a heavy 45 points, but after you get yourself established and a steady flow of credits coming in, you can always give up 1 or both of the other skills. Good luck, and hope this helped.
