First off the Bazaar is like Ebay, you can but and sell items created by other players, either through an auction or a set sale amount.

As far as terrain, I haven't any insight on this yet. I just got my surveying tools.

Resource scanner is used by standing in an area. Selecting the scanner in your inventory and first setting the range on the Radial menu then when you open it up. Just select the resource you are looking for and hit the survey button. It will give you a minimap with percentages on it and a waypoint to highest concentration of the material. Go to the waypoint and survey again. Keep doing this until you find a deposit of high concentration, then you can sample. By the way, you dont have to keep the surveyor open. After you have selected your search material you can survey by typing /survey and the new waypoint will appear for you. You can sample by typing /sample. Stay in the area on your knees until the resource is depleted.

To progress, you can craft materials out of the samples you take. You will want to craft items that corresponds to the branch you are working. When you have enough points in a particular box then you will need to see a trainer and they will tranform the skills you have been earning into skills you can use. NPC's charge quite a bit to teach. Other players will sometime teach for trade, money, or for free if you can find them.

Good Luck

Actually there is no rhyme or reason to where resources are located. You are apt to fine them in any type of terrain.

You click and hold on your survey tool (mineral, chemical, gas, flora,etc) . A radial menu will appear. Select use. A list of all available resources on the planet of the type you're looking for (mineral, chem,etc) shows. Select the resource you want and hit survey. It will show you if the resource is available in your immediate area or not and at what percentage.

Thenovice level of artisanrequires general crafting experience to advance. How you choose to get it depends on your ultimate goal. You may want to become a master artisan or you might just want to do the things required for architect, armorsmith, etc. Many things give you general crafting xp. Making food, clothes, weapons, camps, powerups armor.

Only npc trainers can train a novice skill. ALl other times it is best to seek out other players to train. They will usually do it for free or for a small donation.

Think of the bazaar as ebay. People list items they have for sell there and buyers go there to find the items they seek. If you click on a bazaar terminal a list of categories appear. Find the category for the item you want and you're all set.

Lies, all lies! ^_-

I swear, even though I know this is supposed to be the case, at least 80% of the time the highest resource concentration waypoint will be in the middle of a river or building. -_-;;

I'm pretty sure that building the camps gives Genral Craft XP and using them gives Survival.

People really need to start reading thier holocron and user manual, there is a lot explained in those two places that can answer a lot of the above q's.
