Thread: A little help with the Surveying tool...
I'm not totally understanding the settings. i.e. How the ratio settings work?
When you do actually survey, how do you read this thing? (what does the little red circle signify? How you read the returned numbers...?)
Thanks for any assistance, and may the Force be with you.
The % is the Concentration of the resource you are surveying. The higher the % the more you will sample. Usally at 60% You'll get about 4 Minerals per sample.. Find a 90% area and you can get 10-12 per sample.
If memory serves me correct, the 'ratio' that you're actually referring to is the 'distance' at which your survey tool is working. With a higher distance that you can surveyw ith the tool, the more accurate you become allowing you tyo spend less time looking for resources and more time digging them up. The numbers that are returned are the relativeconcentration of the deposit. The higher the concentration, the better chance you have of successfully sampling or harvesting the resoruce in question. I can't recall the 'little red circle' but I suspect that is your position indicator in relation to the survey taken. If you look, it has an arrow on it. That shows which dorection you are facing. If you keep the survey window up as you run, you should see the arrow move as you turn left and right.
Hope that helps.
