Thread: Can no longer mine Radioactive resources???
Just yesterday I was sure I could mine Radioactive Resources with my mineral tool... it was at the bottom of my mineral list... still have the WP for it.
Today I go and try to survey/sample and its gone from my list. Confirmed with two others. Am I crazy, wrong tool now?? Extractor only? What's going on?
Yes RamonaWoo, that is my understanding. I believe it is based on planet, not region.

IM REALLY PISSED
I know it happend to me when i put my wind power generator w/ 74% wind and at night then when i log on in the morning they changed it to another wind pwr and the place placed now has 15%
and my mineral extractor was placed on a really nice place of steel and then when i log on its not there nemore
It'd be nice if they put a timer on each resource, then subtracted the timer value fromthat resource, until only 25% could still be found of that resource anywhere.
Then create a new resource in the same class, but leave the 24% alone until it has finally degraded down to 0% anywhere.
Then we could always know that our harvesters will be on good veins for awhile, but that the vein itself will DRY UP, and not simply dissappear.
The wind and water thing is silly.
Oh look honey, theres a whole NEW type of wind blowing today! Much better than that wind we got yesterday!
This water tastes funny, oh its Omnigrediton water! What happened to the Triplexium water that was coming out of this faucet yesterday!

From what I've gathered, this is the way works, but anyone please correct me if I'm wrong: There are certain types of resources on planet. As these get used up (mined), they disappear, and some other type of resource takes it's place. It's not necessarily the same type (specific name, ie Ilak), class (Mythra Copper), etc. What this does is creates markets for certain types of materials, for the high-end crafters. If you notice, almost everything in the artisan tree calls for just a Metal, or Copper, nothing more specific that that. The elite professions, like Weaponsmith, call for more specific materials.
High-end crafter are more likely to have the funds to travel planet to planet gather specific resources. Beyond that, the best crafters travel around looking for the best types of resources. This current method of "recylcing" resources makes that harder (even if you find a great deposit of a great resource, it won't last), and easier (you might end up with an even better resource right next to town).
