Thread: Resource qualities and their affects
Has anyone done any testing as to how the different qualities of the resources affect the final product? The only thing I've noticed is that the higher the "overall quality" rating is, the higher the percentage quality of the crafted item...most of the time.
I'm guessing that some of the other qualities (such as malleability, cold resistance, ect..) can affect certain items. Maybe cold resistance helps items that have to deal with heat. (That's just a guess)
If anyone has any information on what the qualities actually affect, I'm sure there's LOTS of people that would love to know.
It will tell you in the schematic. Scroll down to the list of experimental effects. I'll use the CDEF and a Reenforced Combat Staff as an example.
CDEF depends 50% on Conductivity and 50% on Overall Quality (can we say Awiogar?). You want BOTH of these stats to be 1) As high as possible and 2) As close together as possible.
The Reenforced Combat Staff on the other hand depends 100% on Shock Resistance. I don't care if you have 999 OQ, if your shock resistance is 3, the weapon will suck like the Saarlac.
Once you get into foods, it can get quite complicated. Effectiveness (the buff) might depend 50% on flavor, 25% on Potential Energy and 25% on Overall Quality, while the lenght of time it lasts will depend 25% on flavor, 50% on Potential Energy and 25% on OverallQuality. Now you have a choice to make: Do I want to make one with a BIG buff fora short time, or a smaller buff for a longer time.
