I am having trouble getting my mining operation to work, here is what I did.

- Placed a Wind Generator, inserted 500 credits- the operate machine tab didnt do anything

-Placed a mining unit (about 2000m away)- Set it to the mineral I wanted (72%), inserted 500 credits, Started it up, it wasnt mining.. said it didnt have any power units

-Went back to the wind generator.. it wasnt turning, still couldnt open the operation tab.. couldnt get it to start

Anyone know what I did wrong? Its really buggin me.. I spent a long time diggin up the stuff to make all that.

You need to use the operate machinery tab to open up the window you need. You'll select the type of resource you want to extract (even for the wind generator)and then hit the turn harvester on button. When you come back you'll use the same operate machinery tab to open the hopper and retrieve your resources.

If you can't use the operate tab, try logging out and then back in to see if that helps. If not, I'd suggest contacting a CSR in game (through ctrl-h Holocron) to request their assistance.

I have the SAME problem with "operate machinery". It was working fine on my wind generator for about 10 mins after I placed/turned on the generator (yes that worked) but when I went to put power into my mineral extractor and came back I could no longer use "operate machinery". Nothing happens when I select that option. I can do everything else like permissions, name it, pay it, etc.
