Thread: Band Width Goes to 0.0 When Crafting

This may be the wrong forum for this question, but I will start here since everyone here has crafting experience. Often when I craft it seems that my network connection goes dead. I have the bandwidth indicator on my screen and when I start crafting it often drops to 0.0 . This is very frustrating because I keep getting stuck on message windows and I keep loosing my ingredients because I either have to close the message window or I loose connection to SWG. Has anyone else experienced this at all? I have a DSL connection so I would think that would not be a factor in the bandwidth loss. I have no firewall software or hardward either. Anyone have any suggestions?

Well, I have had it D/C while I was crafting once or twice. I think this is probably more related to the fact that everytime you craft, it seems to download something(like an available item list). I don't know if this is just for looks in the game(while your computer makes the list) or if it actually sends a packet to the server to request an item list, but if it's the latter, it may just find out a bit faster if you are already D/Ced. So that may be why it seems to disconnect all the time when crafting, or looking at the bizaar. It's usually the best way to tell when you are D/Ced to actually try to open your bank, bizaar, etc.

I'm not sure what's happening but ever since the last update this Sunday I have lost connection to SWG too when I am crafting. I have attempted to craft serveral times and everytime I lose connection when the crafter it booting. It seems I can't even equip anything from inventory sometimes without losing connection. I even tried on Monday morning when the population was light...my average pings were about 450! And I still lost SWG connection when attempting to craft. I know this isn't any help to you as far as a fix but, figured I add into the discussion and say you're not the only one. Hopefully tech support can figure this out and get a fix quick, you can't be an artisan and unable to craft!.

Bladeus- The same thing happens to me. It is not just when I am crafting but it happens a lot when I just go to my inventory screen. Very very frustrating. Glad to know there is at least one other person out there experiencing this and that I am not crazy.

At first I thought that this post was crazy but then I started to notice that it happens to me when I am sampling. My cable modem will just reset itself and I would lose connectivity to the game. Just weird.

I'm pretty sure that this is going to be a difficult issue to resolve because both parties (internet provider/SOE) will think the other is at fault...
