When I do a survey and get a return of 65% for a resource on the scope will that % ever change? Meaning will I "mine" it out? Will it reset on the server every so often forcing me to re-survey for the hotspots?

Just curious as to how these resources are handled. I thought awhile ago during development they said the resources would get used up and new ones with different names and properties would arise and repeat over and over again. Did this stay in or go the way of the dodo?

Yes it will. In beta I had a wind power generator harvesting on a spot that had 70-ish % of one type of wind energy and 20-ish % of another. One day I checked it and it wasn't harvesting anymore. I did a resource change on it and the only one on the list was the 20-ish % one.

How long was it between times you checked on it?

Also is the resource map the same for everyone of is it personalized so my 65% spot may only read 20% to someone else?

Its supposed to change gradualy, but right now im pretty sure it doesnt.... Call it a verrant fix from the beta where isntead of reducing by 1% the ressources always dissapeared completly. It is the same surveyfor everyone too.

Interesting. SmugglerSnake mentioned that the type of wind energy he was harvesting went from 70% down to zero. I wonder if that was because wind energy in any given spot can vary over time, sometimes dying out completely. The wind, after all, is a lot more fickle than, say, 73% steel ore that ain't going nowhere until it's all mined out.

Of course this is just a guess; I have no idea if this is how the devs implemented it...
