Thread: Harvesters and maintenence

Okay, soI built a Mineral Extractor and now I'm paying maintenence. If I put in X credits and the time remain says 20 hours, does that mean that I needn't return to the harvester until the end of that time?

I put down a my extractor yesterday night. I think gave it a bunch of wind power, paid 21 hours of maintenence and went to bed. Today, after work, (about 15 hours later) I return and I've got no extractor.

What happened?

Well if your extractor is gone after that short of a time period, I think what happened may have been a nasty bug. What was the last condition % of the harvester when you last saw it?

It was at 99%.

On another note, I've now discovered, by putting down another, that I only have 7 lots left. 1 wind. 1 mineral. 1 disappeared mineral.... uh oh.

Probably best to just /bug it and post a reply to Q's bugs thread in the SWG Discussions forum.

More than likely your harvester was destroyed from lack of maintenence. You can't be sure that the time on there meant that you had 20 hours. Best thing to go by is the durability of the harvester. If you see it go from 100 to 99 in one minute, then you can assume it will take another hour and a half before it reaches 0. There are many factors to proper harvester placement. FIrst is the survey. You will want to place the harvester in an area that yields no less than 50% of the resource you are looking for. Otherwise you could mine the material yourself in the same ammount of time and maybe even get more. Second is the maintenence. If you want the thing to run for three real-time days, you're gonna want to put a tens of thousands of credits into the harvester. This is a good system because without it people will place harvesters everywhere and go away for weeks while the thing plugs away.

Hmm. Now I've discoveredI still have a blueprint in my inventory! So: 3 lots used, one invisible, and a blueprint I already used.

Plus, I placed the extractor on a 75% steel vein, and it was only at 99% after I'd come back after about an hour. I'm /bugging this.

Definetly put a /bug in on this one, things are not well with your harvester...

probably hit a lag pocket somewhere, and now that deed and harvester are in limbo

I am in the same situation.

Placed 6 harvestors, gave them enough power and money for 48hrs, came back 12hrs later and they show 36hrs power/money remaining and 100% condition, came back 12 hours later and 2 are gone but I still show as only having 4 lots remaining and have no deeds in my inventory.
