What's the resolution part of the 'set range' when surveying for materials? Range makes a lot of sense, but there's something else measured in points.
Also, do most of you just leave your survey tools on their maximum? Or do you find tune with smaller ranges? If so, any hints on how to make this process easier?

I think this is right, the resolution determines how many %'s you see in the screen when you survey for materials. Example: a novice artisan surveys and sees 9 %'s in the screen to the left of the materials. An artisan with survey 4, however, sees 25 %'s if they put the survey tool to max range.

When you advance in survey, you get more and more ranges (costs more action points to use higher ranges). To change range after a skill increase in surveying just open the raidal menu and select tool-options, set-range. Thats it.
