I have been looking forward to the ability to produce medium harvesters and it was with great joy that I placed my first one yesterday but upon further investigation I was perplexed when I realized that there seems no point in upgrading from a Personal to a Medium Harvester.

Personal Medium
Spec Rate 2 4
Maintenance 720/day 1440/day
Power Consumption 25(/hour?) 50(/hour?)
Lot size 1 2

There is no difference between the 2 harvesters efficiency-wise and the Medium Harvester can be difficult to place due to its footprint and are considerably more resource intensive to manufacture.

I do not see a problem with the doubling of operating costs but I would expect an improvement in efficiency. Nothing huge but something around 10-20% would be reasonable.

Currently the only use for Medium Harvesters that I can see is leveling through Architect and selling the occasional one to an unsuspecting newbie for an outrageous amount.

Jedi will be rare and difficult - No
Increased Dev communication - No
CU will balance combat - No
Most of the bugs from launch fixed - No
saintchuck will continue to pay - No

- I supported the CURB, the Devs and the attempt to make SWG a better game and have realized it didn't work so I'm quitting in less than 2 days and won't be tricked into coming back again. Trick me once, shame on you...

Well, the medium harvester only takes a single lot, like the personal one, so if you have plenty of cash but are out of lots (a lot of high end crafters are in this position, from factories and whatnot), they look a lot better.

The fact that if you pick up a deed you lose the money and power in it keeps me from using them. When they fix that (I'm told it's a bug and you're supposed to be able to keep the cash and power in your harvesters), I'll be all over heavy harvesters.
