Yes, they would be carried over to the next session (which may be expecting too much).

If you don't want to experiment. don't craft near a crafting station.

have a single pane crafting window. First, leftmost section would be the materials you have on hand. Second pain would have the item's requirements. Then onces you build the item, the focus shifts to the 3rd pain, (experimentation), then the customization pane.
it doesn't really save any clicks, but the constant popping up of new windows is annoying.

In a desperate attempt to ward off carpal tunnel, I have been trying to think of ways to reduce the number of clicks required in non-factory crafting. Here are a couple of things I've come up with:
Have an 'Experiment?' check box on the first crafting window. If not checked, it would skip the experimenting windows.
Have a 'Schematic option?' check box on the first crafting window. If not checked, it would automatically produce a prototype. If checked you would get the option of making it a schematic as with the current system.
Have a 'Rename?' check box on the first crafting window. If not checked, it would skip the naming windown and give it the standard product name. Renaming would still be optional should this be checked.
Comments? Other ideas?

You're not saving a click...you're just doing it at the beginning of the process instead of the middle. It's good thinking though, I'd like some good click-saving ideas.

The idea is that the settings will carry over to the next crafting session.

I am with you 1000%! I have been living with Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) for 2 years now, and I am a computer programmer. I am a keyboard commando at work, using the keyboard shortcuts for almost everything, because for me using the mouse is much more painful.
What I would like to add to your post, since maybe it was not obvious, is the need _all_ dialogs/windows to have actions for the default ENTER key. Right now, if you hit ENTER on some dialogs, they do what you want, but on others, the key does nothing. It would be nice to add to each dialog a checkbox indicating which selection the default ENTER key would select. Hitting the key on the keyboard is about 10 times easier for me that the very precise movement necessary to move the mouse pointer over the right button, compounded by some problem with my video card or game options or something where the mouse has tremendous INERTIA, lumbering along slowly at first, then overshooting what I am trying to click on. Can anyone give me ideas about why this happens?
Sony, please help those of us who have RSI by making the game less clicky and more keyboard driven with commands and default actions for keys.
Thanks,
Cyprian (Naritus, Corellia, Coronet City)
