Artuk, is that what the hell keeps happening to me? I didn't realize it had to do with Surveying while moving. But it makes perfect sense!

yeah I and my other artisan friend hate that bug big time. Thanks for pinning down exactly what we were doing while surveying to cause this... I will try to avoid it from now on until it is fixed thanks again.

Here are a bunch morefrom the listthat appear toapply to us. You really should read the whole list. If all these reallyare implemented, it will be a big improvement:

  • Missions: New mission terminals added for Artisan (crafting, and surveying missions), Entertainer (musician and dancer gig missions) and Explorer (hunting missions, and recon) mission types.

  • Many fixes to crafting experimentation were made. It should be working much better now.

  • You now only get UXP on components that someone else made.

  • Fixed powerups to work properly when manufactured from a schematic. This means that they should function correctly when built in factories.

  • Added messages for when manf stations run out of ingredients.

  • Send mail to player when their manf station runs out of power.

  • Examine: display crafting tool effectiveness in attributes

  • Waypoints: fixed bugs with waypoint naming

  • Waypoints: fix waypoints being deactivated when traveling

There are a bunch more listed under "Crafting".

If you have it happen when you are not moving, please update us. My evidence for this is strictly anecdotal, but every time I have had it happen is when I am surveying as a I move.. however... that 90% of the time I am surveying.

I don't think movement has anything to do with it either.

I'll play with it a little today and see if I can pin it down.

I'd like to thank Maddo and apologize to Q (who needed to point out the fact that there is a long list of changes). I'd recommend eveyone give the In Development list a read. There's a lot to digest.

hmmm I will keep that in mind and try to be mindful about what i am doing while surveying when this happens to try to get a solid reason for why this is happening. i remember reading something on swgcraft.com forums (at least i think it was there i browse alot of forums while at work hehe) that said it happened to that particular person after approx 15-20 surveys. Not really sure this had anything to do with it, but it always seems to happen in that range for me while I have my survey device open and tracking down that "sweet spot" of minerals when it happens. Always seems to happen when I have they survey device window open with the %'s readout on it... anyways I will try to be more mindful about what is going on when this bug occurs, I will post here should i find anything new out about this issue, as I am sure this is a major annoyance for myself as well as other crafters out there.

This is Not just a surveying issue. I am a scout, have no Artisan skills (ie, I dont Survey) and this happens to me at least every other session. I havent been able to pin down the cause yet though. I have to relog or shuttle to reset this.

The other bug I noticed is my Skill XP window that can be brought up on the HUD always starts blank and I have to go into the Skills window to uncheck/recheck the HUD box to make the bars show up right. This will randomly go back to blank when I shuttle sometimes.

Anyway, just letting you know that the Waypoint problem is Not only an artisan issue.

Thanks Thadar for letting us know its not an artisan specific bug.... but that still boggles me... always seems to happen when surveying for others and myself. Do you remember what you happend to be doing around the time that the bug happend?

doh! i forgot to add that i have noticed that same problem with the xp window logging out and comming back to a blank bar until you unckeck/recheck the xp bar box or go out and do something to gain xp and it fills up again to the proper level. I have also noticed after being taught a new level in a skill you need to reset the slot to the correct bar again. <wishes he had an edit button>

I know it must be obvious, but what does this statement mean:

"You now only get UXP on components that someone else made."

My understanding of UXP was that I got it when other people used items that I crafted. Is this still the same?

I read this statement to indicate that there was a bug where you got UXP for using items that you yourself crafted, but rereading it I am not so sure that is what it means.

Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated!

Nearly anythign can cause it, surveying when moveing, deleteing active waypoints, deleteing other waypoints when a diff one is active, manually entering way points....you name it
