Thread: Starting in Artisan: money
I just started in artisan and i have one question:
Is there any other way for a brand new artisan to make money other than deliver missions?
it seems like no one wants anything a new artisan can make. i mean, who wants a cdef pistol?
Is selling resources the key or is there something else i can do to fund myself and afford harvesters?
I must say that I make pretty decent money by doing the LONG deliver missions, where they span the planet. I play mostly on Naboo, and I will take two deliver missions that both go to nearly the same place, then take the shuttle to the city that they go to (open your Ctrl+V to see the waypoints on the planet map) then you finish. I can get from city to city with around 120 credits per travel, while i am doing two missions each worth 750+ credits. You do the math ;-). Don't lose faith in delivery missions, they pay the bills until you hit that elusive Elite Profession.

Selling resources is definately an option. You can sell 100 units of some metals (steel, iron, ore mostly) for 10 credits/unit and get 1000 credits. If you find a nice sopt, you can get this in 15-20 minutes. It's slow going at first, but once you get 3K in credits, you can buy a windgenerator and mineral harvester that can do the work for you. Usually 10% of the resource these generate will pay for their maintenance, and a mineral harvester in the right spot will generate 1500-2000 units in 24 hours. Always get trained by someone in surveying as early as you are eligable. While your harvesters are doing the work for you, get some scouting and weapons skills so you can protect yourself while mining. Then just start crafting away until you can make your own harvesters.
