Where can I find a list of power generating gases wind solar radioctive.

I know solar and wind but, on the gases and the radioactive I'm not sure do you have to process them first or can you just put them in to power your other harvestors.

I've got several harvesors right now, and can't figure it out pls help the artisian noob

I know the radioactive mineral at the end of the survey list can be put straight into the collectors. I don't know about the rest.

Known Reactive Gas does not work as power.

Known Liquid Petrochemical does not work as power.

This is despite these resources having "(energy)" in their names. So be careful when Bazaar hunting for power. The Mineral Radioactive Metal does count as power, which makes it a much better power supply than wind energy since mineral extractors cost far less to keep running and you can switch them off to other minerals if you want.

Also note that you can get Radioactive metal through sampling - the only power source you can get that way. So, newbie artisans with your first harvester, take note.

Hope this helps you out. I was sure glad when I figured it out.

known radioactive ore is the most efficient power i have found. I found it more efficient than wind or solar becaue it is free, you have to pay for the wind and solar harvesters while all you have to do for radioactive ore is just sample it. Just my opinion.

Currently the *only* three resourecs that provide power for machines are:

Wind, Solar, Radioactives

Radioactives are free in small quantities, but unless you macro sample for a couple hours, it's a poor substitue for an extractor or a windmill.

Currently the "Potential energy" of the resource doesn't seem to affect how long it will run your machines for. Hopefully this will change, but don't count on it.

Wind is generally the most efficient type of power if you can find a good spot of 45% or higher. I've got two windmills set up like thta and I have no problem powering 4 medium harvesters.

Solar collectors are twice as efficient as windmills, but they cost 10 times as much to build, so unless you've got 15k lying around to buy one, stick with wind.

Radioactives are good, except their harvesters require power (unlike windmills). So part of what they mine goes right back into them. On the other hand, they only cost half as many credits to maintain as windmills.

Fusion Reactors are just giant harvesters that can only grab radioactives. They do so very efficiently, but cost as much as a large house.

THat was a good thread. I am going to convert one of my windmills to radoiactives so I can do a little "load balancing" on my energy needs.
