Dear Artisans,

As a scout I have a limited number of ways to make money. I've recently taken to selling my hides and bones. I'm curious what type of hides and bones you guys are looking for?

Too you prefer or need a certain type? I'd like to tailor my hunting to what is needed and then charge a fair price for them.

might help if you say what server you are on. I am looking for high quality leather or scaley hides and high durability bones of any type. Would consider trading high grade aluminum for them on a 2 aluminum per 1 hide or bone. if on Ahazi server and near Theed email me in game.

This was just a general question to get an idea of what Artisans need. I'm on Flurry near Theed. I've posted there too.

On Talus, Bria, I there is one type of animal bones (among the several currently getting harvested) that has really high overall quality and shock resistance ratings (both 900's). Easily the best quality bone I've ever seen. This would be good for making armor.

If the artisan is just looking to grind out stuff to get xp, then he probably want care too much about quality, just want a lot of it.

generally we look for any hide with a high durability, myself i look for leather hides because they are easier to come by. As for bones I look for animal bones, avian bones have low durability generally speaking and this causes a lower quality product; especially on bone armor. In general, the higher the attributes, the more us artisans want it and are willing to pay for it. I play on Ahazi and i bought a stack of 200 bones with durability of 850 for around 700 credits last night and a stack of 350 leather hides with 900+ durability for 900 credits. Hope this helps.

Just for a counterpoint, unlike slash, my prime stats when looking to make armor are Overall Quality, then Shock Resistance and Malleability.

But that's just me.

That is a valid point as well. I use durability because i hate it when i sell something to someone and then said item breaks in a few days, it makes me look bad. so i use high durability to keep the overall durability of the finished product high. Just my reasoning. I use overall quality on other items such as ranged and melee weapons but for hides and bones i look for durability.

So, do you guys know which animals tend to yield the hides/bones your looking for or is there no pattern?

Most of my kills are on Naboo so I'm getting chubas, nunas, spineflaps, etc.

not sure, i am not a scout. I think reptilian creatures give scaley, mammalian creatures give leather or wooly. Bone wise i think that flyings give avian, and other types give either animal or generic. Again, i am not sure on this because i am not a scout.
