Thread: Crafting: No way to automate?
I'm a DA 2, 2500 points from DA3. My math says I need to craft about 125 moreitems to get to DA3. Each items takes about 10 clicks to produce. 1250 clicks. Not to sound like a whimp, but isn't there some way to automate at least part of this process if not all of it?

However you'll need to create an exerimental schematic (even if you dont experiment on it) and you only get xp if you stay within a certain distance of the factory (I also dont know if the xp gain is the same while using a factory)
I've not been getting an option to create a schematic when I craft. Maybe DA2 isn't skillful enough to do it?
And I have no idea what factories cost.
Man I'm poorly informed this morning. 8)
Thanks. I have the tool, but I'm seldom at a crafting station when I use it. If I can figure that out, maybe someone will lend me a factory. I've got the resources.
If you could automate crafting, there's be no reason NOT to be one. Everyone would be able to craft stuff to earn xp while away from their computer, thus making it so there is no market economy. They'd be able to make anything they wanted, and not have to buy from other players.
If it's too annoying, stop doing it altogether. Being an artisan is no different from being a bounty hunter, or smuggler, or anything else when it comes to terms of difficulty. The classes are all just as hard as another, which means you have to put forth the effort to get anywhere with it.
I think what he is saying is that he just doesn't want to wear out his mouse. :-)
Go for the 5-button its worth it.

I'm actually more worried about my fingers, wrist, and mind, but yes, the mouse is in danger too. 8)
I actually have a five button mouse lying about here somewhere. How would it help in crafting?
Ashrid -- Thanks for the clarification. Not sure if I have Eng I or not.
Etui -- Yep, I have two crafting tools and I do alternate. Still a lot of clicking.
RNK -- Good points, but if I'm understanding the other posts I'm reading, the economy is already headed that way. As I understand it, anyone with a schematic and a factory can craft and earn crafting eps. Apparently characters who make enough in other professions to afford these two things (and the resources to stock the factory) can turn themselves into Master artisians in less time and in fewer clicks than I'm taking.
