I am a novice artisan and purchased a house deed for 10k and can't place it! it says "you can't place a structure in your current state" I have placed mineral extractors and stuff, do you have to be a full-fledged arcetect to place a deed? dumb.

Anyone can place a harvester. Possible problems. You where just in a fight. You are moving. You have a TEF. You are not 1000 meters from town. These are just ideas. Maybe one of them will help you.

I had this problem yesterday with a wind harvester. No battle fatigue, HAMS at 100%, standing still, plenty of distance from town and it kept telling me I couldn't place. I relogged and it fixed the problem. I have also found often that the game thinks I'm running when I'm not, i.e. trying to dance or sample resources. I guess that's what happened yesterday, for some reason my game status was marked as 'running' when I wasn't running anymore.

This is ussually doto the game thinking you are still running. Go to the bathroom or get a drink and then you should be able to place it.

Here's another placing question--not to hijack the thread or anything but it seems related. What's the explanation of the yellow crosshatching? I thought my game was bugged the first time I placed. Maybe it is bugged--does everyone else see all yellow with diagonal black lines? If so, what are the rules for placing? I had to look long and hard for someplace that I could actually put down harvesters. Does the area have to be level, clear of animals, etc.?

I get that sometimes with harvesters. Useually because I was moving or in a fight and the game had not registered that I had stopped moving/fighting yet. I just wait about 20 seconds and it either a) lets me place it or b) tells me I cant build here. (gotta love finding a nice 95% fiberplast spot 1000+m away from town and then not being able to build a harvester there because some NPC building was close by /sigh)

This happened last night to my buddy who was trying to lay down some Harvesters. I told him to sit down then stand up and that handled it.

A couple of answers.
1. ...In your current state - this is probably server lag. What is happening is that the server thinks you are still running, swimming, sitting, a state when you can't place harvesters. Sitting and then standing seems to help this.
2. I'm not sure what exactly you mean by crosshatching, however if you can't place a harvester (and it IS a build area)because the area is yellow on the placement screen, look around for a lair - once the lair is destroyed, the yellow surrounding it will go away.
