anyone know what the point of gemstones is? havent really had a recepie that calls for them in particular and every one ive dug up has had horrible overall quality (gives me very few experimentation slots) they do seem to have very high head/cold resistance and stuff, but what does that matter?

I'll bet you they are also used in lightsaber construction. In beta there was a contest for a free house on the live servers - in order to win it, there was a 'scavenger hunt' to help the jedi. One of the items that they needed was crystalline gemstone.

How else are you going to get those pesky little lasers to amplify, focus and make those cool colors?

I believe that the class of gemstone will have significant bearing on the quality of lightsaber constructed.

Just think, wouldn't one of those rainbow gemstones make a purdy lightsaber?

The weaponsmiths use a lot of them. There are gemstones in scopes, blaster barrels, and grenades. That's all the farther I got in the tree, but I'm sure they would be in more places as well...

Well aren't gemstones minerals.

That is what I use when is says it needs minerals and they work just fine.

The real question iw what is the point os the different types.
