Thread: Vendor Maintenance Rates
If anyone knows the definitive answer on the formula, please post it. Thanks.

Last weeks patch normalized vendor maintenance to 15 cr/hour for all vendor types. The ones you get in the Business skill branch used to use the 1 cr + 1 cr / 1k merchandise for the hourly maintenance, but you don't have to worry about that anymore.
I placed my first vendor about a week before the patch, and gleefully dumped over 100k of merchandise into it, finally glad to be free of the bazaar's price limit. I nearly fainted when I realized that it was indeedexpecting 2.5k of maintenance per day...
I wondered about this, too, as I found exactly the same thing (i.e. fall off the chair rates) then was surprised when I moved to a new building and it dropped to 15c/hour.

My vendors say the maintenance rate is 9 credits per hour for the unregistered, and 10 credits per hour for those registered on the map. They are actually costing twice that. I've been tracking this for days now and there's no doubt. I put maintenance on and it will say it's good for x number of hours. It only lasts half this long.
Are my vendors bugged or is the rate actually 18, and 20, rather than 9 and 10?

I have no information about the rates being anything other than what they say they are however you are not the only person to have noticed a problem with their rates. At this point though I don't know that we have enough data to figure out what the pattern is.
I did a 24 hour test.Ihave 5 vendors; 3 are map registered and 2 are not. I let all the vendors run down to 10maintenance. At 6:35 pm on Monday night I put 1000 credits on each vendor. I recorded their status:
Registered vendors= 1010 credits
Non registered = 1010 credits
At 6:35 pm last night (Tuesday) they had the following maintenance:
Registered vendors = 595 credits remaining (24 hours = 415 maintenance)
Non registered = 698 credits remaining (24 hours = 312 maintenance)
I am repeating the test and will let you know the results tomorrow.
Vendors are definitely costing more than 9 or 10 credits per hour though.

Good work. The rates on those seem to be 17 and 13 respectively which is very odd. It will be interesting to see tomorrows results. I will tell you that whatever is happening either isn't happening consistatnly to everyone or isn't happening over time. Right after I first heard of this I put down two test vendors and tracked them for three hours and the rate was dead on every hour. I didn't run them for long periods of time though.
About hourly: If you track hour by hour it appears to be normal. I know I've done it over a couple of weeks and things appear to be normal. I'm thinking the extraordinary amounts of maintenance are being taken at server resets but I have no way to prove this as I've not been able to log on just prior to reset to check, then recheck immediately when the server comes back up. That would be a good test however.
My second days test paralleled the first in results, varying by only a few credits:
Test day two began at 6:35 pm Tuesday
Registered vendors = 595 credits maintenance
Unregistered vendors = 698 credits maintenance
At 6:35 pm Wednesday
Registered vendors = 179 credits remaining (24 hours =416 maintenance)
Unregistered vendors = 286 credits remaining (24 = 309 maintenance)
Over 48 hours the maintenance appears to have been:
Registered vendors: 831 credits (17.31 per hour)
Unregistered vendors: 724 credits (15.08 per hour)
This equates to not quite double the stated rates. If you can think of some other test I can run let me know.

This is good stuff. If we could get someone who CAN do a comparison from just prior to the reset to just after that would tell us for sure it was happening then. I can't do that until maybe Saturday but I'll try to do it then. If anyone has the ability to do that between now and then it would help.
