Heyas!

I am in need of Apprentice points for achieving my master status when I realised that there is a loop flaw in the Artisan Class.

Surveying doesnt cost anything and can easilly be made into a macro so that you will reach enough XP to get all 4 surveying boxes in a night or two. All you have to do is pick a good spot, leave the macro on and go to sleep. Thats it, It worked wonders on me. Sometimes I still do it just for a particular resource if I feel like it.

The point is that Im still acumulating loads of surveying XP which arent useful for anything else, (I HOPE).

Therefore whats stopping me from gathering enough XP to get all four boxes again and then simply dropping them at once, letting some other artisan teach me again for the Apprentice points and thus allowing him to get loads of points in one single go which cost nothing. After all all those surveying XP are just being wasted there.

Does this make sense to you? drop a box and let someone train you for the apprentice points and then he does it for you.

And if Im not wrong there is nothing stopping you from using these points to reach master in other classes.

If anyone is reading this and agrees, email my character BloodWarior on Tempest Galaxy and I will let him teach me surveyor for as long as I have spare surveying XP.

If anyone has spare surveying XP and wants to help me get the Apprentice points kindly let me know

Of course I understand that the current master would not take this kindly, but honestly this works well for them as well since it allows them to gain apprentice points for their other professions as well.

I hope I have not broken the balance of the Force.

There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: this glass is half full. And then there are those who say: this glass is half empty. The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass!

I think it'd be more efficient, xp cost-wise, to just learn or teach Survey 1 repeatedly since it eats up less xp per teach/learn.

It's the same deal with Ranged Support 1 in Marksman.

Once you've banked plenty of Combat xp, you can just learn Novice Marksman and have someone perpetually teach you Ranged Support 1 while you keep dropping it.

They reduced the AP required for Master level boxes to 300 because people were doing this just to get enough of the points. I guess they think a lower requirement means less incentive to farm AP.

Usually, if you hang out in cantinas or starports, you'll find people looking for training and your AP will slowly grow, but if you're in a hurry to Master you can always use one of these methods to get those App Points piled on quickly.

You can pretty much use this "learn skill/drop skill/learn skill" method with any low-level skill and gain or give Apprentice Points very quickly.

oh well... and here I thought i had discovered the secret of eternal life... chucks

It doesnt really matter, just thinking of this made me feel wrong thats why I put cheat on it. It has a certain wrongness about it.

Anyways, this still leaves us with Star Wars Galaxies fatal flaw:

The game is entirely dependent on Player Characters. Unless there is a steady flow of newbies there cant be any apprentice points. Unless there is someone making vehicles you cant get one, unless there are medics and entertainers you cant heal.

I wonder if this is the reason the game is so brutally addictive? It certainly makes it so much cooler.

Same for Combat, mate. Go grab Marksman, kill a few things, and ask a TKM friend to let you teach them Ranged Support 1 over and over.

And one of the FS quests is based upon surveying, so you can convert your survey XP to umm.. i think it's heightened senses FS xp.

The need for AP grinding comes from grinding the rest of your profession. I was able to master 5 professions without ever having issues. I took my time learning my professions and when it was time, I was ready for master.
