Im not really an artisan anymore but I am just curious whats an artisan to do about looting one of these? They aren't fighters and prob couldn't take a FS person. Are they just simply screwed or what?

Weems, well there is that thing about changing your playstyle.. but if you call yourself an artisan, then you probably didn't have much chance anyway, because it looks like you have to master multiple RANDOM professions, and just being an artisan isn't enough..
