I think the guy who runned swgcraft.com "shut it down" or stopped updating it, think i made a post somewhere here on the boards, maybe the architect forum. So you might be looking at old spawns.
The thing that makes swgcraft.com neat is that it's not updated by just one person. It's a dynamic community effort and requires input from all of us in order to function properly. There was a time when swgcraft.com had enough people contributing to it that I could go on there and find most resource spawns within a few hours of their initial spawn on the server. However, swgcraft.com has lost many of its greatest contributors from my server and it now may take a few days for resources to make it onto the site.
Whenever I'm looking for a new place to drop extractors I'll take a few minutes to make any updates necessary to all of the minerals on my current planet. More often than not I only have to add one or two resources and it takes me a grand total of five minutes. I highly recommend that everyone here takes just 10 minutes to familiarize themselves with swgcraft.com and how to post new resources. Remember, the resources are different for every server, so if everyone on your server is taking the attitude of "someone else will do it," it won't get done at all and you'll all be stuck surveying for your resources independently.
No one expects one person to update every single resource on every planet, but if just a handful of people from each server would take the time to monitor the resources on their current planet at the start of their surveying session, swgcraft.com would be that much more useful.
Good luck!
Lower levels in Survey reduce your range and percent success when hand mining (sampling)
You still get the whole list of available resources, though.
