Oddly enough, this gets asked a lot. So often it's in the faq. Check out the link at the top of the stickies in this forum and look at the second item on the list for all the macro info you could want

artisan crafting is soo fast anyway to me its pointless to even use one. you can master and get to any elite class in under an hour with out a macro surveying on the otherhand takes a while but here is a tip for ya... Survey while you craft But you will still beat usrvey master by about 5 hours..

course you can marco survey too, all the tools are there to do it.

Apprenticeship XP is SOE's way of telling me that my hours of grinding to get to where i can get mastery is gonna be interrupted by a 1-2 week process of training other people who probably are gonna use NPC trainers....sounds like my idea of fun...
