I would like to make mineral extracters what do I need to be able to make them?

you can make personal havesters now, if you mean the big ones, you need to be an architect.

architect xx4x will allow you to make them but you need x4xx to get all the experimentation points, and 4xxx for the full assembly points. unless you can make the max ber harvs you wont sell a lot of them. max for medium is 10 and heavy is 13, with fusions at 14.

My SWG Observations

If they stopped the expansions for one year and gave quality revamps to the professions that need it most, many people would resubscribe.
With all the resubs, and the new players, there would then be plenty of money to hire enough people to do 2-4 quality revamps per year plus 1-2 larger expansions per year and/or 2-4 smaller expansions per year, and not give the BigWigs a pay cut. (Possibly even an increase)

If you're talking about personal mineral extractors then you can already make them; they are listed under Engineering III. However, if you mean medium or heavy extractors, then you need to get Architect Installations II and IV respectively. Be aware, however, that you won't be able to make the highest quality architect installations without becoming a master architect.

I am 4004 should I be able to make them? I can see them in my schmatics but cannot see them when I fire my crafting machine up?

Yes, you can make them. However you have to use a Weapon, Droid, and General Item crafting tool. If you're still trying to use your generic tool then that's your problem.

Hmm...actually I thought it was a Structure and Furniture Crafting tool to make harvesters.


And, you'll want to be near a structure and furniture crafting station to be able to Experiment, and improve the BER of the harvester.


You can either find a public station, buy a private crafting station, or get a droid with a crafting station in it. Whichever you choose, you'll still need it to be a Structure and Furniture Crafting station. Use your specialized tool near it and you're set.

Close, but not quite. You need to use a "specialized crafting tool", which for harvesters (other than Wind gens, whichI think you can make with a generic) is a structural crafting tool, not a WDG. And don't forget to stand next to a structural crafting station (public ones are available in almost every NPC city) so you can experiment the BER up.

I'm sure you're both right, but has it always been under the structural tool? I could have sworn the last time I made a personal extractor, which was probablywhen I was grinding out artisan months ago, that I used a WDG tool. Perhaps not, could just be poor memory on my part.

When the game started, items above a certain complexity could only be made with their respective specialized tools (harvesters = structural, stims & food = food/chem, armor = armor/clothing). Then the Weapon/Droid/General tool got a massive ego, became jealeous of the other tools, and hacked itself to count as a specialized tool for every item in the game.


This went on for quite some time, until a month or so ago when that bug finally got fixed. My memory is failing (see: /mood OldFogey), but it was either 11.0 (the publish that went out with JTL) or 11.1. Now the WDG tool is back to creating only weapons, droids, and the items under the "misc" tab (scout camps/traps, crafting/survey tools, fireworks, etc).


So Dpjarret,your memory is right, you were just inadvertantly taking advantage of a bug that has since been fixed.

Side note for architect, you DONT need to be master just 0-4-4-0 to max out harvesters. Master only gives youi one point which is spent on increasing hopper size slightly.



As for what you REALLY need to make nice personals.. Kammaris Iron, Durralloy Steel,Phirk Aluminum, and lastlya nice intrusive or extrusive ore, Hollinum, marinum, katrine, are generaly best, and like stated above a stucture tool and a crafting station. Aslo try to get alteast 850 + heat+shock+tough, but i generally go with 950+ the closer you can get to a 3k combined the better
