Disillusioned with Master Artisan person here.
Can you make money? I can't. I do sell the odd 'little' thing for 100c or 1200c, but very rarely.

you have to find the market, the market doesn't find you.
Sell youself to DE, AR, AS and WS's, contact them let them know that you can proved them with Master Artisan Items
I mostl sell this:
Bikes
Power-ups
Bone Armor (I get top stats and only use looted or Master Armorsmith components)
Master Artisan Components to Architects and Weaponsmiths
I'm looking into doing some foods atm
but yes you can make money, but with this profession it pays to get your name out there.
just don't expect hords of it... I average anywhere between 50K -500kin any given month...
Slow month 50k
Good (average) month 100-200k
Great month 500k

Yes you can make money. Artisan was the first profession I mastered and it has alwaysbeen my primary money maker.
The thing to concentrate on with artisan is volume; artisans don't have any extremely large ticket items. The most expensive item we make is probably the swoop and those will sell for 50k tops on most servers. I'm purposelyexcluding the AV-21 here because you either need to have a good combat character to get the parts for it yourself or you have to invest quite a bit of money to make any money selling AV-21s.
Anyway, here's a short list of money making ideas that have served me well over the course of the last year:
- Sell vehicles. This is the reason I became a master artisan in the first place and I made a small fortune selling vehicles as they were first coming out. People lose their vehicles for all sorts of reasons so there is a constant market for these. Swoops sell the best with regular speederbikes in a very distant second place. The best way to make money off of speeders is to mine your own resources. If you are buying your speeder resources your profit margin is going to be very low.
- High quality weapon and armor repair tools are always in demand. All you need to make really nice repair tools is a metal with conductivity in the 990s. At that level you should be able to get 99% repair tools which sell pretty well at 3000 credits each on my server.
- Crafting tools. Set up a vendor and keep a good stock of every type of crafting tool available. The same metal that you use for repair tools will serve you well here.
- Weapon power-ups. Look in the newbie thread at the top of this forum if you're uncertain about what makes a good power-up. There's a great power-up crafting thread there. These usually sell best in crates of 10, but you can also sell your "non-schematic worthy" single power-ups as well.
- Droid batteries on the bazaar. You can easily sell crates of droid batteries on the bazaar for 6k per crate. It's not alot of cash and it's tedious to restock everyday, but it's more or less an assured sale so it's something.
That's just a very small list to get you started. Probably the two keys to success to make real money as a master artisan are to mine your own resources and have a vendor and keep it stocked. If you can afford the skill points I would recommend that you get merchant and work your way up to advertising III so that you can have your vendors registered on the planetary map.
Good luck!

*Sigh*, your tips worked
I used my last credits to buy some resources to make some bikes. Barked my wares at the Starport and they sold like hot-cakes.
From the sales made overnight, I had 170K credits in the morning

Ive been making most of my money from resources. I craft a few things, depending on the market but the bulk of my artisan earnings have been coming from resource sales.

- AV21 Yes the are rare but when you get one made its a windfall
- Swoops Good steady Income
- Mining Overall the best income both in saving me from having to buy the stuff from others and in selling what I dont need.
- Electronics Not great, normally1 or 2 large orders a month but hey its cash so I do it.

This was the 1st profession I mastered..from Artisan I managed to make my 1st million.
later I had to drop MA to pursue other lines, I became a MDE but due to the fact I could find no MA I had to become MA again to get the components for droids that only MA's can make...
So as stated above...find ur local elite crafters and sell them the components they need..
Good advice if you do manage this....get a factory...will save you so much time.

1. I make loads of money from Swoops and X34s. I plough the money right back in by buying resources to make more.
2. Realised it was better to mine my own resources, so bought 4 harvesters which I placed on some nice Steel (mining Steel from the ground? I thought it was made by a process involving iron, carbon, etc. in a furnace?).
3. Make money from PUP sales too. Personal Harvesters seem to sell quite well.
4. I need to get the money to afford a 10 harvester lot-swap (would prefer that this was with heavies, but at 120k a pop, it’s going to be a while).

Armor, Weapon and (especially with all the Jedi running around) Clothing repair kits. I sell 99% experimented repair kits for 3k per. I cannot keep the vendor stocked enough.
