Thread: Two questions from a noob crafter
1)
a.) If a schem says some resources X resistance gives YY% to some area of the effect, and you use a resources that fills the slot but doesnt have X resistance, does it truely act as 0 as thecrafting guide on the main starwarsgalaxies page says? So if something used 75% Shock Resistance and 25% Conductivity and say i found something with a SR stat but no Con, does it really mean i can only get 75% on it?
b.) similar to the previous question, if something is 100% in one area (say Shock Resistance) and it has two types of resources needed (say Chem and Mineral) and i use a chem that never has SR (a oil or something), and a Minerial with a close to 1000 stat, will the chem bring down the quality of the product?
2.) Is is possible to add colors to names of items produced?! i think i saw some stuff with color so my real question should be: IS there a list of which html/hex codes will and wont work to color the name of stuff?
1 a&b) It's unclear exactly how it works, but there is something that keeps the missing stat from dragging down the final quality. On Chilastra, some 998 conductivity copper dropped a few months back, and there were crafting tools that got experimented up to 99% effectiveness (100% based on conductivity) even though a crafting tool requires chemical, which doesn't have conductivity. I tend to think that resources missing a stat completely don't get calculated into the final product. Although it's possible that another stat like OQ gets substituted in.
2) Color codes for item names were removed in the November monthly update, any special coding used now gets stripped, although I think older items/schematics may have retained the name coloring. The given explanation was that items with special properites (exceptional armor, weapons with DOT, socketed clothing) get a color change in the name, and crafters making name changes would conflict with that. Colored names were also apparently taking the place of "premium auctions" in the bazaar, even though I've never seen anyone use those anyway. You can still use hex codes in structure names (harvesters, house signs, etc). All codes from /#000000 to /#ffffff should work for those.
