This means artisans will be able to provide needed food to the fighters without being in an elite class.

Having just started an artisan character, I have to say that these changes are very welcome. I really like the diversity in these buffs, instead of just affecting the various stats. There may actually be a market for food items now.

By the way, are these in effect already or are we waiting on a patch? I just made some air cake today or yesterday and it only showed the standard character stat buffs.

They're not in effect yet, not even on Test Center. That's from the profession report SirVimes got (he's the chef correspondant, and a darn fine one). The new buffs will be put onto test center sometime January, hopefully rolling out to live in time for a valentine's day present to the until-now unloved chefs.

Actually sciguyCO....the developers are talking about putting this to live in January's patch. My guess is that this will go onto the TC very early January and then go to live very late January.

I am thinking the Devs are finally getting the game to where they wanted it. All the improvements look great, I am just sorry it has taken so long.

Jedi will be rare and difficult - No
Increased Dev communication - No
CU will balance combat - No
Most of the bugs from launch fixed - No
saintchuck will continue to pay - No

- I supported the CURB, the Devs and the attempt to make SWG a better game and have realized it didn't work so I'm quitting in less than 2 days and won't be tricked into coming back again. Trick me once, shame on you...

Interesting.

Can you get a skill buffed that you do not possess? (e.g., I had to give up Scout, so I probably don't have Terrain Negotiation any more; can I eat some Travel Biscuits and gain the buff anyway?)

No you can't. You have to have the skill already....so some of these will be specialty items.

ALthough I did just learn that they do stack with skill tapes.

Assuming these will require a food and chem factory to make in crates? Would be nice if these artisan items could be made in generic item factory.
