Thread: Why do I need high mind attributes when being an artisan?

I have been playing for 2 months now as a tailor and armorsmith. When I started the game I thought mindattributes would be a huge part of an artisan, so I picked a Mon Cal. Now it seems like there is no point of having such high focus and mindpoints for an artisan. The only thing I can think of is surveying (correct me if I am wrong). Now there is no way of me being a strong fighting class because of caps on Mon Cal health attributes (i.e. constitution caps at 600). Maybe I should switch to medic, at least when you heal the mind attributes come to effect and hey they craft medical supplies also. Even better, delete my character and make a Trandoshan artisan (then I can satisfy both my love of crafting and killing). Give me a reason why I should keep this Mon Cal?

Because you can, table him if ya want but if you are pretty far along you might want to create your Trandoshan on a different server. I created my human while keeping my Zabraki.

You can be a strong fighter no matter what, you just have to work at it. I think my con caps at 400 (or the other Action sub-stat). I managed to work myself up to Pistoleer while Tailoring. You just need to figure out what will work for you and do it.

Is there a reason why I should keep my focus or willpower high? The only reason an artisan needs mind is to survey and gather resources, but if I have harvesters what is the point of having such high focus or willpower values?

Excellent question for Bianca to look into. Does mind have any bearing on crafting success? Do artisans have different stat-migration limits than other classes? (this can be tested)

It only makes sense that mind should be considered... complexity of the items and all...

Funny as it is having high mind is actually more important to a tka than it is to a crafter, health and action can always be healed by using mind, so a lot of tkas max out mind heh.

Max your Mind stats and get Doctor buffs - you'll be a better killing machine than pretty much anyone else, even a lizard

Was there ever any resolution to the focus/willpower question as it pertains to crafting success?
