I made a amazing success followed by 2 amazing experiments. I have enough materials to make about 40K of units. How can I keep the same schematic? Can I make 999 and start over? even change factories?

schematics are only good to 1000 items. if you want to make 40k you would need 40 schematics.

As kayjay said, the max a schematic can be used for is 1000 items. After that the schematic disappears. If you set one to 100, then after 100 items, the schematic also goes poof.
