Thread: Power up crafting question

How do I control the stats I have on my power ups?

I want to go for something like a 32% speed (if possible) and 16% min damage, but I've discovered that these things are extremely random and unstable.

Any suggestions?

I know its a crapshoot to get started, but once I have isolated the two stats I want, how do I control not getting any more modifiers, or ensuring that I can improve both modifiers at once?

It's random, after a fashion.

Your best bet to get Max/Min as the traits is to use Muzzles. Just keep clicking until you get what you want.

I just stood here for over 2 hours playing with powerups to try to get speed or mind / max / min and nada. Nothing even close. I think in that 2 hours, I got 2 useful schematics.

Thats why I would like the question for the week to be "please make a better powerup system." The current one gets on my nerves.

I've been making power-ups since Beta (over 3,000 crates worth) and I have never found a way to do this. By single-stepping the experimentation, it increases dramatically the chance of getting 3, 4 and even 5 buffs while still allowing you to max out the percentage on the primary and secondary buff. The trade-off isthat it increases the chance that the experimentationwill alter what you end up with as a primary and secondary buff and I don't know that there is anything you can do to stop that short of experimenting with the maximumpoints allowed each time and giving up the chance of getting multiple buffs. The whole PU system is really a major pain in the backside and I'm now in the process of selling off my business to go do something else. Best of luck to you.

Thanks, I figured it would be a completely random mess, I wasn't sure if there was a workaround.

Thanks to everyone for the advice.

There is a post buried deep in the far reaches of the Artisan forum that details exactly this. It appears that the stats you get are directly based on the quality of the resource. I wish it was stickied, it was an excellent post to make sense of astupid crafting system.

That is a question I came here looking to get answered as well:

When crafting Power ups what stats on your resources are the ones that matter? Do Different types of metal (copper vs. steel vs. iron vs. aluminum and etc.) make a difference?

No. Only the type of powerup you're crafting affects which of the "random" attributes get attached to the powerups.

Go to SWGCraft.com, hit the forum for Artisan, you'll find a sticky that details the possible primary and secondary stat enhacements for the various types. It still takes lots of experimentation to get the right combination of stats so when you do get what you want, make sure to make a schematic and run them in a factory.
