Thread: question on crafting macro

Couple answers:

1) You can sort the schematics in your datapad by name, type, or some other parameter. Don't. There's an option somewhere that enables the sort or something. Don't click it. Someone else can give you more details - I'm not at home right now to check.

2) The count for the schematic number only counts the schematics that you can make at the time. For instance, if you successfully craft schematic #10 while standing next to a crafting station, then it might be a different number if you're not near a crafting station. Schematics 2,5, and 9 might have needed the crafting station, but now aren't craftable (since you're not near the station), so the schematic you want is #7.

Or if you're trying to craft schematic #2 as you see it in your datapad, but schematic #1 takes a different type of crafting tool, then they'll both be #1 as far as your crafting is concerned. The number is just a reflection of how many other schematics you can actually craft with that tool at that time before you get to the right one.

Lastly, the first in the list is #0, not #1.

I don't know if this helps you at all here though . I usually just craft something, see where it is in my list of schematics, then go up or down in number accordingly. It takes me a while. I believe there are much better ways to do it than how I do it though. I think there's a command you can use to automatically select the last schematic you crafted or something. Maybe /ui action defaultButton or something. Someone else can surely provide more insight here...

Yes, that's it. You just open the tool once, select the schematic you want, close it and then fire off the macro. In the macro where you would select the schematic, you use that command.

I just completely ignore the schematic number, thats a pain in the butt. Just do like the post before me says, open the tool once and select your item to craft, go into the resource add screen then close the tool. Once you fire the macro from there it will always select the same one, unless you get up to grab a drink or something, then if you miss loading the schematic it goes back to the top of the list. Have not actually tried the /ui defaultButton; command so dont know about that, i just start the macro with a 9 second pause, that will give enough time to hit "enter" key and add your resources as long as its a simple schematic.
