hey i was just wondering, do people really buy energy and ore that you put on the bazaar or should i sell it myself? and also i have two m inig installations right now (wind for energy and mineral for metal) is this okay, or am i screwing myself over. because i want to make money (or making monkey as some prefer). so please reply and tell me if i am doing okay.

yes selling materials on the bazaar was what kept me in credits while i was grinding up through the Artisan tree. as for how much to sell it for, best suggestion is to look at what others are selling for then make a judgement for yourself. if it doesnt sell, then you probabaly priced too high, if it goes quickly then obviously try to charge a little more next time. it is a little bit trial and error until you learn the market.

you probably should run one or 2 more minerals / chemicals with your wind power generator to get the best balance.

if you want to grow your business then you'll want to switch to radioactive power (fusion generator) and either medium or heavy harvesters. but for now id just get a couple more minerals, then another wind gen and a few more minerals as you progress.

typically you'll be selling about half of what you mine, and use the rest to grind up through the skill.

for a while i was running a number of medium harvesters and buying all my power, so yes people do buy power, but generally the price per unit is lower than for minerals

Hi folks,
I'm trying to get into resource selling business. Any tips and strategies would be very helpful.
Like how to get them, and sell them.

Heavy Mineral Miners and some luck with how the resources are that week as far as quality goes. energy is another big market, that would be Radioactives(trust me dont sample these with the survey tool).

best advice = find one of the major resource dealers on your server and work from them (to learn the ropes). I'm sure they will be more than happy to take you on as an apprentice. After, when you know what your doing..the branch off on your own. Or stay working for them...now you have choices

just post in your trade forums and ask who are the best. you should get a fast response.

Simple Method: Buy mineral harvesters, plop them down anywhere and never move them. There are enough mineral types you will almost always be able to find a high percentage of something. It may only be grind material but that still sells for good credits. And you only have to check the harvesters perisodicall and do not need Artisian since you can sell on the bazaar.

Medium: Same as above but have Artisian so you can survey and possible have a vendor. Survey as you travel looking for a high concentration. Does not really matter what since worse case you find a 90+% location of grind material and the can make a tidy profit.

Complex: Surf swgcraft.com to find the best materials that have spawned, spend hours finding a high percent spot and move harvesters, be willing to do this sometime 2-3 times per week.

Does high percentage increases the amount harvested by hour?

yes the figure comes out like this:

percentage x BER = amount of harvested materials per min

so if u place a harvester of BER13 to a 80% place u get

0.8 x 13 = 10.4
multiply it by 60 and u have how many units u will harvest per hour

If you have a new character, buy a wind power harvester or two (only about 8k each most servers) and harvest and sell wind on the bazaar for 2 cpu.I usually sell from Coronet's Bazaar but if you don't find sales brisk there sell from Theed. Yes, people can travel quickly anywhere but they are lazy and won't if they don't need to.You can go into the fusion powerbusiness but those harvesters cost about 140k or so and the availability of fusion shifts from planet to planet while wind is almost always around. (Never hand sample fusion as it will fry you into a smoked little morsel).Once you have a tidy income from that you can buy a heavy mineral harvester which will cost anywhere from 60k to 140k or more. I recommended specializing in minerals because so many crafting professions use them and the resource stats needed vary widely by profession. The most saleable mineral if you want to narrow it down is steel, the better the stats the more saleable. Check www.swgcraft.com for the current resource spawns on your server. Look for the minerals that have 4 stats over 900 (they will have four ****). You can also specialize in providing resources for a particular profession for some variety- talk with a weaponsmith, armorsmith or shipwright to see what they need and mine those resources as they spawn.

Good luck!

Think he's on Radiant...also an idea to keep an eye on trade forums...most of the power crafters post there with resource requests when nice stuff spawns, I know I do if I need stuff.
