yes. All clothes (that artisans can make) can have sockets I believe. Some are more useful than others. I regularly make backpacks with 4 sockets, but sockets in backpacks are still useless I think (as you can't put CA's in them).

The number of sockets in the clothing you craft is completely random though. Nothing you do will control the number of sockets in the article you craft.

I'm going off my own experience here though - not something I've read. If I'm incorrect about any of this, someone please correct me.

Sockets in Artisan clothing is directly tied to the experimentation/assembly line of artisan.

So someone with 4400Art {Engineering and Domestic lines} will craft far more sockets and socketed items then someone with just 0400Art {Domestic line}

Past the Artisan level {novice Tailor} socketing in tailor line clothingis completely random and not truely affected by anything.

I don't make much clothing, but I'm a Master Artisan and I always seem to get 4 sockets, but then I always experiment the quality all the way up.

well i am also a master artisan, but my clothes always turn out to be between 2-4, equally, perhaps there is a cycle involved?

Well, as I've said before.. I still don't buy that.. about artisan clothes being tied to engineering. As a Master Artisan I still have an equally hard time doing artisan items with sockets, as I do tailored items.

As a master artisan (and not a tailor), I find that the number of sockets is random between 0 and 4. It could still be tied to the engineering line though. Maybe with engineering 3, the number of sockets would be random between 0 and 3 or something. Does a novice artisan always craft with 0 sockets? It could still be tied to the engineering tree. Would be easy enough to test I guess...
