Today, after the Saturday bug fix that made my input hopper accessible again, I was crafting and I realized I needed some copper. I didn't have the copper I wanted in my main inventory, or in the input hopper, but it WAS in my equipped travel pack.
So I double-clicked the travel pack, and the (filtered) contents appeared in my crafting window. However, when I tried to use the copper, I was told it was an 'invalid ingredient'.
I dragged the stack to main inventory, clicked up-arrow, and was easily able to use the stack at this point.
Anyone else seen this behavior? I didn't have a chance to test out multiple scenarios.

I have noticed this also, but thought it was a crafting bug in general. I can pull stuff out of my backpack and craft just fine, but get an internal server error: invalid ingredient when I try to take the resource directly from my backpack

In other words, it's a real bug, but one with a workaround.
OK, I think they got he fix for 'nested containers' almost but not quite right. Maybe a hotfix.

it doesn't work for me either, just drag the item you want into your main inventory and it works fine

Impossible. I carry far too much inventory to do something like unequipping my backpack.

Hmmm...maybe that's whay it only happens to me on occasion. I'll have to check out that equipped bag theory. Sometimes I get the bug but I haven't paid attention if it's when I grab from my equipped pack or not. Yes, I carry 2 packs
Helps keep the inventory neater

I have the same problem trying to use any resources from an equipped backpack.

Knowing how a developer's mind worksI think that it's trying to use the backpack as the ingredient!
