I have seen crates with up to 50 items in them, and others with only 5, 10 25 etc. When i make things, the crates are always 25, is there a way i can change this to 50 items in each crate?

I'm almost positive that the number of items per crate is determined by the particular item. I craft a bunch of food, and that all comes out in 25 unit crates, which is the most common I've seen. I think the only thing that comes out in 50 crates are metal fasteners and maybe the slicer tools (molecular clamps and...the other one).

This isn't something that can be set (unless there's a top secret factory command I've been missing).If you want to sell items in smaller batches, you can use the "split crate" function to make a crate of 10 and 15, but I'm thinking you were wanting to go the other way.
