Ok I couldnt find any recent threads on this topic and I am amazed!

How do you do the missions from the artisan mission terminals? It tells me I need to mine 'gas' at 'efficiency: 66'. I'm only getting 800 credits for the mission, but it wont tell me what to mine, or how to do it. Help is useless too. How do I do these missions? I need somemoney and am dissapointed that I can't sell my body for quick hard cash

common problem, it means you need to find a concentration of any kind of ore/metal/gas (depending on the mission) at the specified concentration or better(you only hae to survey, not sample it), and it has to be a long way from the mission terminal. your best bet is to take the mission, take a shuttle to another town and try to survey it there, it saves you running for hours into that nasty dangrous wilderness. its also usefull if you know that your destination has a concentraion of say gas at 70+ near the shuttle port, then you can just target the gas missions and jump on the shuttle letting you do the mission in a few minutes. Make sure you have the gas, and minerel survey devices. The main problem with these missions is the fact they only give cash.

The key to these is to make sure you're more than 1024m from the city you got the mission at. It won't complete if you are too close. Best way to do this is get the missions at one city, then Shuttle across to a different one and start surveying from there.

Also, I'm a little unclear on this, but I'm not sure whether it wants ANY Gas category item, or a specific one, but isn't saying which. Either way, once out at range, just ping for each one in the category as you run about sorting out harvesters or whatever. You'll soon hit the target. You don't need to Get Sample; just having the Resource Marker move onto a 68% spot, or however much you need, will do it. You'll know when you've hit the target, as the music will play

These missions are best done while doing something else, rather than as a specific task in themselves, I find.

I'm a complete newb, so someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but afaik, all you have to do for a survey mission is locate the specified concentration of that resource. So, in your case, all you have to do is use your Gas Pocket Survey tool to locate any gas concentration of 66% or more, just as though you were going to sample it.

Ok here is what me and my friend was doing when survey req range was only 512.

§1 As soon as possible get 4 skill boxes in any fighting skill (like pistol 4 or 2h weapons 4 etc). That will make it possible for you to get 1.8k (best possible if not sliced) mission rewards. Dont forget equip it while you are looking for right mission.

§2 find a nice artisian mission terminal on edge of town or in such location that you need to do as little turns as possible to get out of town.

§3 Try to find as flat location as possiblesince Hills= speed reduce even if you have basic terrain N skills.

§4 drop a WP att mission terminal and start running insome dirrection for 1024m (was 512 before nerf)

§5 when you get to there pick up your Mineral/Chem/gas tools and survey for all possible items there.

§6 look to find att least 2 resource that have high Q att your spot (or very near to you). Dont forget that if you find 1 steel and 1 iron att same spot it will still count as 1 because they both are ferrous metals. But if you find Steel and Copper then you have 2 posisble survey items.

§7 Pray to god to get 4-5 survery items att almost same spot (as best i had was 5).

§8 if you cant find even 2 survey items then try other direction from terminal or other town or planet.

§9 If you found att least 2 survey items then drop a WP att that spot (if you can get 1.800 cr missions be sure that these spots have 70% concentration or better. if they have lower % rate then you cant use them for 1.8k missions)

§10 Run back to your terminal and start rolling missions. ( before nerf i would be getting about 3.300cr in less that 5min of running. now it is sadly as best 1.800cr for 5min if you have have a mount).

PS: some times you might need to spend few hours of town hopping before you find your best locations.

Dont try to do survey mission by using shuttle it is waste of time and cash. if you want to use shuttle use delivery missions instead.

yes, like said above, if u have 4th tier combat skills with a 3rd tier weapon or higher equipped, you get twice as much reward for missions (higher paying missions are available)

also, another reward is finding the location of a high % resource

Of course, all this would be much better if they would turn on surveying (at least) from mounts. You can check and grab resources from a mount, shoot people, and send emails all day long,but you can't push a button. Sheesh!

heheh, mounts just came out not TOO long ago, so give them a chance to fix bugs, then they may fix issues
