To be honest, had the holocron issue not come up, I wouldn't be pursuing Artisan. As soon as I master it, I intend to drop it.

I'm sitting at 4/4/4/1 Novice Artisan.

What is the fastest way to grind through the rest of surveying? I have no idea how I filled the first box but glad I did.

And please be as specific as you can. I totally respect Artisans and their respective professions, but it's just not for me and I'd like to be through with it as quickly as possible.

Thanks in advance for your tips.

The only way to get surveying experience is to sample resources. Grinding this tree usually isn't an issue for most real artisans as most of us probably finished this tree first....

Basically, Surveying works like many other harvesting skills (though honestly, the only other one to my knowledge is Scout/Hunting). You harvest resources, and the more you harvest, the more experience you get. If you want the maximum amount of experience, you need to go find a really high (90%+) concentration of a resource and then begin sampling like there's no tomorrow. I was more or less constantly running all over Corellia, surveying and sampling since I got the game last Friday. It endedup taking me approximately 2, 2.5 solid days of sampling various resources (Though if you just sit at one spot, it might be slightly faster for you.)

So there's my 2 credits. Enjoy.

The only way to do it, is to sit there and sample. I make a simple macro, to /sample; pause 60; /ui action toolbarSlot01; (which is a stim pack to heal the action dam from sampling); /ui action toolbarSlot00; (which is where i put the macro. Then I sit there and craft away while surveying. No way to get through it other than time, I think total time sampling to level it took me about 12 hours. Try to finda high yeild area, 85%+. That way your chances are better at successful and larger samples, which increases xps. Gl

I did it in 1 night with a looping macro while i slept. This is one occasion when i macro is so much better as surveying is sooooo boring

Can you detail the macro you used, what planet, what resource, etc. you used overnight? I don't entirely understand how surveying works because I don't see to get points unless I actually go and dig up something after I've surveyed. Or is the surveying part not required?

Survey a concentration, set up a camp, get naked, macro and craft while sampling.

If you are a REAL artisan, you sample things you need and craft along the way. If a holocron told you to master artisan, then put on your advanced composite and get on your mount and order you graul mauler to sample for you.

It's called AFK

Oh and stat migration helps, but it looks like your almost done. I've never used a timed macro like that it always logs me out? Does it still do this? (need tonnes of resources rather than the xp).
