I'm a master artisan, so I have all10 artisan experimentation points.

Is there anybenefit to aquiring another experimentation point (say withenough skill tapes)? Will I be able to increase the quality of my items beyond what I can do with 10 points?

for every 10 points u get 1 experimenting point that u can use when u experiment.

Thanks for the response, SirRafael, but I know that. I'm asking about the benefit of having more than 10 artisan experimentation points, not how skill-tape values convert into those experimnetation points.

So I have 10 artisan experimnetation points. Now lets say I get another one, an 11th, somehow. Is that 11th whole point actually going to do me any good? Or ahve I maxed out my experimentation abilites with 10 points?

I generally only craft those items (in the artisan tree) for which I have the best possible resources. And I discard any non-perfectly experimented products. So yeah, I'm maxing out with my current 10.

As far as I can tell, there's a threshold for less-than-perfect resources beyond which you can't experiment further. So if I make powerup that uses OQ as its quality-determining attribute, and I use highest quality resources with an OQ of say 995, and get all "great success"es in my experimentation, I'll get a powerup with Min damage 33.16%. All or even a single "amazing success"es don't improve the Min Damage of the final product, I can't get above 33.16%.

Nowlets say I make the powerup with a resource who's OQ is 973. All the amazing successes in the world won't push my Min Damage above 32.83%.

But what about another experimentation point? Will that push me beyond the apparentlyresource-imposed threshold?

Humans, I'm looking at you. Don't you guys have an extra artisan experimentation point?

I have 11 experimentation points. On those items with only 1 quality to experiment on, I always have extra points. However, I could conceivably use about 20 points, as there are some artisan items with 3 or 4 qualities to experiment on.

That's a really good point, which I hadn't thought of. Thanks!

An 11th experimentation point can be used, and will effect the outcome of the product just like any other experimentation point. Well, provided that you aren't maxing out all the categories with your current 10, and if so you might want to look into getting better materials.

I think that for a single category, using near-perfect resources, you can get to the maximum experimentation wtih 10 points or less, as long as youget "great" or better success on each experiment. More experimentation points means that for items with multiple categories (like weapons with damage, range, efficiency and....durability?) you can make a better overall item, since you can max out one and have more points to putinto another.
