Thread: Baseline price for vehicles for all around profit maximization

This is not a perfectly competitive market. This is basically an oliogopoly (several sellers of a standardized product [that can be substituted] , one seller can slightly influence the market price, market price taken for the most part) . if one person sets his price lower, then the other people profits will fall and his will rise slightly. yes this sounds good for that one person but if all people set theyre prices higher then everyone can expect a much larger profit (up to 3x's as much) than if everyone tries to undercut everyone else. now im not talking about an insane price but one that can make us poor artisans some decent money for once. now once vehicles start running short and the demand is stil lhigh but the supply is low i say that its every man/wookie/zabrak/mos/tran/other for him/her self (i know im politically correct). vehicles will never be in short demand. we need to set a baseline for merchants to sell for the first couple weeks. This will not only help experienced artisans but new ones that would like to know what to sell vehicles for.

I agree whole heartedly! We need to set minimum selling levels... It will help out the Artisans as a whole. Or else the rich artisans (Archs, Armorsmiths, and just rich dudes) will sell them cheap because they have all the resources and we will all be dead in the water.

I think a good fair price is 70-75k for the bikes and 90-100k for the Landspeeder. We need to remember that critical faiures will eat into our profits.

If what i understand is correct . these can be biult in a factory. this will take away the CF. which will lower the expens it is to make.. we need to understand that this will bea ever going market. not like the mounts becasue we can only have one .. and the decay factor. so this will produce return customers over the long run. we need to make vehicals affordable like maybee 35k -45k. you will sell more and they will come back to you in the future..

but for all means if they ar offering 100k take it.. who are we to say no. that is to much..

35-45k? For something that takes 8k of resources and no master training? I don't think so.

I think the base price for these is going to be at the most around 16k, and bargains will be 12k ish.

Nox i think your numbers are off. Last update i saw regarding the basic materials is 12k for the bikes and close to 15k for the landspeeders. at a minimum (ie 3cpu) vehicles should be 36k to 45k.But if an artisan sells vehicles at 3cpu they are fools. you can sell any raw material at 3cpu.Factor in better materials like Duralloy steel and Polysteel copper(They can sell as high as 10cpu on the market) and you can do the calculations to see just how expensive they would be.

ALl depends if you want to buy a new vehicle every 3 days or have one last weeks. In my eyes the better vehicles are still cheaper in the long run.

ok 8k of resources at 3 creds per unit.i think thats close to 24k minimum?what is wrong with them trying to make a small profit?if they sell for 12k thats great ! i was giving mounts aways as a creature handler.but if you have to buy resources dont expect to get them practically free.which 12k is practically free.as a new character you can make 12k in about 2 hours.

i also dont agree with price fixing.its kinda **edit** and only causes people to resent doing business with you.so sell speeders for what you think is a fair price, dont try to get some kinda speeder conglomerate.have you lost all sight in having fun that having a good old fationed price war can bring hehe.

lighten up price fixing goofs, and lighten up you people who want them to give them away.let each person play the way THEY want to.not the way that is best for YOUR character.

For 1.5-2cpu and no useful xp, I'll just sell the resources on the bazaar and save myself the trouble. This isn't like architect, where folks are willing to sell at a loss to recoup some of the cost of grinding to master.

I've run into at least 5 people that are skilling up to MA now so they can make vehicles and I don't travel too far. So I'd think this is happening everywhere. So prices won't be too bad.
25k-40k sounds ok to start. Assuming it's going to be about 8k of resources, which I could probably get at 2cpu, I'm willing to buy the resources and pay a MA 10k for their time.
