Thread: Selling information
Hello again.
In my travels I came across a vein of a particular mineral that was at 97%. I marked it on my datapad and moved on (after I mined it for several minutes). I began to wonder if there is a market for this information.
So, would you even bother trying to sell the information? What would your formula for price be?
Jark
But after asking around no one had any good information on wood on tatooine. I found a spot that reaches 63% which i shared but asides from that I havent come up with anything.
The point being is I'd like to see maybe a private network of artisans that look out for each other and share this information or if not that maybe a network to trade information. I think selling the information may be a last option if you either a> don't want to trade or b> the other person has nothing to trade. The most i would pay for information would be 500-1000 credits depending on the percentage of the resource.
Anyway thats my 2 cents on the issue.
I'm on Bloodfin>Tatooine>Bestine if you want to look up Jodocow
anything is sellable--its just a matter of finding your target audience--I'd buy it for a decent price, but i don't think the resource locations are consistent with the servers. It heavily depends on the type of mineral, too--low quality minerals are not going to be used in production--just in exp gain. Factor in distance and threat level. that's about it:
sells on bazaar for about 2-3 creds per unit = 2.5 base price
distance gives amount of time required to run out there (consider average of 2000 credits per hour running marathon missions)
Quality = ratio compared to other same-type resources (average all resource qualities, and mineral's quality by this average to get ratio)
Threat level = probably not very reliable, so not more than 10% base markup (110% original price, just off the top of my head)
Potential supply = i dunno if they decide to make the resources diminish as you use them, or if they chage once a month, or whatever, so this value is also unreliable.
final form: (2.5 + TimeDistanceCost) * QualityRatio * ThreatAdjustment * PotentialSupplyFactor
note: except in the case of the quality ratio, none of these factors should reduce the base price. After this, let Mr. Adams' Invisible Hand take over!
Its really not gonna matter, The one bad thing about the harvestor is you dont even need to survey, just run around and look for the place with 20 harvestors already placed, you know something good is there...
To answere your question, try and sell the info for anything you can get, bc in less than a week that spot will be camped
