If anyone could give me a hint as to where i can find high wind efficiency, i've been searching non stop for a day now and can find nothing higher than 58% on Tatt....theres gotta be something higher out there!

Nope, not really. Thats about the best you are going to find. Usually you can only get 30-40%. If you need more power get solar or fusion generators.

I'd avoid Solar unless you're in dire need and it's the only thing around. Wind gens top out at BER9, and you can find 40-50% fairly easily. Solar gens top out at BER8, and generally the concentrations aren't much higher at wind. Wind is almost always better than solar.
Radioactive is by far the best. PE is almost always above 500, and is often found in the 700s and sometimes the 900s. BER14 fusion generators are not hard to come by (they're spendy to begin with, but pay for themselves in a hurry) and you can find radioactive spots as high as any other minerals, I've seen lots of 80% or more areas of radioactive.

Spend the cash and get one BER14 fusion gen. Mine was a bit steep at 125k, but in one day on an 78 percent deposit it generated more power than I use on a week with two factories and three medium mineral harvesters.

I agree, buy a BER14 fusion. I bought one, and it makes plenty of power, cheaply, for my 7 medium harvestors. When the field shifted that I was on, I had a few days of power saved up from the excess. Originally I used 6 Wind gens. But as mentioned, finding a 58% is a really good spot, and it takes a lot more Wind gens to make enough power - using up valuable lots that could be harvesting income-producing goods. Yes, good wind gens might only cost you 800 credits while a good fusion will cost 120K+, but it's a worthwhile investment.
I found better power now (whatever the class 7 PE 950'ish stuff is now), and decided to buy another fusion. That way, I will have lots of surplus. So when it shifts again, I don't feel like I need to find more right away. I'm planning on building up two or three weeks of surplus. It will be easy to do with two fusions on a good spot (my spot right now is only 68%, but I'm the only one on it - and it still supplies plenty of power so that I have a lot of surplus).
The idea is I don't need to always have power generation going - I can take a two-week break here and there.
Cheers,

I've been wondering what the benefit of solar is, if anything? The collectors are much more expensive than wind generators, and there doesn't seem to be any benefit of solar energy over wind.
The only thing I've noticed (and I haven't been in-game for long) is that solar seems to shift far less often than wind.
In fact the last solars I had up were in the same place for about 4 weeks before I had to move them, while wind shifts roughly weekly.
