I recently acquired a skill tape that is +17 to surveying. Does/will this have any benefit to a Master Artisan (Human)?

Very little, I believe the only benefit that will give you is you will extract a little more of the resource when you hand survey.

More resource at a lower concentration.

Well, yes, higher survey skill makes you able to survey a longer distance and sample more resources at a lower concentration, but, as you reach survey IV you hit the cap at the range possible to survey (AFAIK)

I have +25 bonus and I don't get any further distance than I do at Master Artisan. I think it only helps with getting samples like the others stated *shrug*

So increased survey wont make your tool have more range???
