Thread: Crafting Station's Input Hopper
Honestly, I've never tried to use the input hopper. It's far easier to keep items in backpacks and then just rip them off your wall and craft directly from items in backpacks (if you double click the backpack, equipped or not, in the crafting screen you can load components directly from the pack). I have a backpack for tailoring, a backpack for vehicles, etc. That way I won't use the wrong materials for the wrong item, if they're all lumped together in my crafting station. Because the crafting station items count toward house totals, it hardly seems worth it, and, in addition, you have to be within "range" of crafting station (whereas if you have the items in inventory, you can craft from anywhere in the house.)
But maybe it's just my intense distrust for crafting stations considering the weird things they sometimes do to house itemcounts.
Well- I'm not a full time crafter and I had to dump my half inventory and/or backpack to speed up my crafting. I was just thinking it should be a lot more useful. Just shows you how usefull the hopper is and how often it is used by everyone. Otherwise it would have been fixed already.
Crates only work in the input hopper if you do the following:
Open input hopper
Open inventory
Drag crate from inventory to input hopper
Leave input hopper open
Start crafting
The crate will now be available for use. If you close the input hopper window you will have to do the steps over.

Wish crates could be used in input hoppers. Is really irritating to have to either carry the crates all the time or play crate shuffle all the time. Wish this would be fixed.
