Thread: Vehicles should provide armor yes/no?

I am all to aware that post CU the crafters ability to survive in the wild is going to be limited due to no personal armor, no buffs and being hit for 1k damage every time due to the combat lvl system. Thinking about this I feel part of the solution could be to provide vehicles with armor ratings that protect the occupant... This to me makes sence, and can't be that hard to code, plus there is no issue of imbalance as there is already no way to attack while in a vehicle.


Sitting in me X-31 should prevent kinetic attacks, how is the critter going to hit me hard when there is a meter of metel between me and him...


Vehicles should have the option to power high power shield generators to protect against energy, this is very in keeping with starwars and should be available....


We crafters need to be out and about, to survey, place harvs and check factories... I am not asking to be good in combat, just the ability to do my job and get away again. Please devs give the poor crafter a chance!

The protection would need to depend on the critter in every planet side vehicle your head is exposed. Any creature with a long enough reach could "take your head off".
It would not be as easy to code as you think, all of the vehicles would provide different lines of protection.

i think if they made some enclosed vehicles it would solve that problem. they would be the ones that would make more sense toget armor or shields.

I like the idea of a personal shield generator for a vehicle. Just like the current PSGs they wouldn't be visible to us, but you'd know they were there. That way the dev's wouldn't need to code in new graphics, just a damage modifier when they are equipped on a vehicle.
