I am looking for a tool to track resources as I am getting into the mining biz...
What are you using if anything?
I would be looking for a tool that could show current resources along with a history with dates of past resources so I can gauge the quality. Obviously a better resource that was availabel a year ago would not affect price much but one that spawned last month would...
It should also be able to filter by planet and type (mineral, chem etc)
I have looked at swgcraft.com but everything seems to be more geared to crafters (obviously) which helps but all the tools seem to lack the above features.
Any hints?
Thanks

It doesn't get any better tha SWGCraft.com. You can search by schematic (which resources are needed), current resources, recent changes, reverse resource searches that show what schems they go to, etc...including the needed stats. Basically everything you asked for is there...with the minor exception ofold resources.
Play with it a little more...it really does have all you need.

The actual site is very good, it just is very difficult to get the information you need with out having to "work it" (And you can look up past resources on swgcraft.com). There are a number of good tools that are great for crafters to find the best combination they just are not geared twords miners.

I didn't realize it stored all resources that have ever spawned...if that's what your saying.
And the reverse resource look up can't be for anyone but miners.
If there's something else out there...it hasn't been mentioned on these boards since I've been reading them.

Correction: I think the history has been turned off on the site. If you search for a specific resource it will show old resources but most are very very old...

SRT (SWG Resource Tracker) http://gramsplace.com/srt/

It's an amazing tool!
As a DE myself & Harv Maintainer for a group of crafter
friends (static harvs & harvs placed as needed);
I find it very useful for targeting available
resources with the best stats we use in general,
as well as the stat categories I need as DE.
For my general use e.g.:
[x] I select Only show selected Resources
Inorganic
[x] Planet
Naboo
[x] Filter (CD <> blank) or (PE > 600) or (OQ > 600)
That gives me all resources on the planet I'm maintaining
harvs on at the moment, for the type of resources we
use the most (Inorganic), with the stat qualities most
worth collecting for general use.
Now If I can only figure out how to make a complete
Template for DE.

I have no idea what half of you guys are talking about, but then again neither do you. You can use swgcraft.com to monitor current spawns, find out what professions use what resources, and more importantly, what stats they need to pay attention to for those resources, and also you can use swgcraft to compare a new spawn to previous spawns.
Current resources - Just like it sounds, it tells you what spawns have been reported for your server. Remember to go to settings and select your server. Click on the resource type (same as Resource Usage search)and it will list the schematics which call for that particular resource. Click on the schematics and see the experimentation % to find out what stats are pertinent for that resource (e.g. for example Cond/OQ for ranged weapons)
Resource tree - probably don't need it if you know what you're looking for, but it helps you understand the classifications from specific to generic, such as Ostrine Carbonate ore to Low Grade Ore.
View skilltree - enables you to view most schematics for the various crafting proffessions to see what they need and what stats are important. It's where you end up when you click on the resource type then schemtic from the current resources page.
Find resource - this is how you evaluate current spawns versus previous spawns. Let's say there's a spawn of Kammris Iron that looks to have decent Cond/OQ. Click on Find Resources, select Kammris Iron, enter in the pertinent resource stats and %'s, in this case Cond 50 and OQ 50 then hit the Find Resources button at the bottom. Go to the far right column named "Rating" and hit the bottom arrow. This will sort from highest to lowest but will only list a few per page. You can sort by column if you have another single stat to look at or just choose "modify search" if you also want to evaluate another set of stats for another resource.
