Wow what a question

First of all i gotta ask, are you doing this to make credits or to produce the highest quality items that you possibly can. Believe me theres a whole world of difference between the two.

Mastering any elite crafting profession is fairly straightforward (i've mastered Artisan, Weaponsmith, Armoursmith, Architect and Shipwright.... Not all with the same toon). it might take some time and alot of resources but it aint hard. The real difficulty is gathering the highest quality resources that will enable you to producehigh quality items that peeps are gonna be proud to own and use. That in itself can take an eternity.

You'll need to invest quite a few credits to purchase high BER harvesters if you want to go into mass production, and you'll almost certinly need the assistance of friends or guildies to procure some resources now that the CU has come into play.

I guess what i'm trying to say is

Whatever proff you choose, strive to be the best you can or you might be dissapointed with the master badge that you have earnt.

As to helping you pick a profession to choose.....

I suggest you pick something that you may have an interest in ie. would you like to make weapons that peeps can rely on when the going gets tough, or would you like to know that there is a fleet of starships in space that won that decicive battle because YOU chose the right combination of resources to give them the edge.

Hope this helps a little

All the best

Well I had kind of thought about going WS/AS and specializing in wookiee weapons/armor and rifles and psgs using my wookiee character I've got, there seems to be a shortage of good wookiee gear on Chimaera, especially bowcasters, not a single recon being sold anywhere and the assaults are all mediocre except for 1 or 2 which cost 1mil or more. I wanted to be the best I could, even having already bought a fair amount of the server best Gallinorian gem for use in T-21s and Assault Bowcasters. I gave up on the AS part because of all the resources used, I just don't see myself as being able to keep up with all the resources needed to make armor and weapons too. I'm not in a guild and don't really care to be unless I'm the one leading it, more of a leader than follower type.

I honestly believe I could do good once I reached 12 pt MWS but I just feel like there's something about the whole process that I'm missing in spite of reading various guides. I believe it to be in the area of figuring out how to tell which resource is better to use than another of the same type but different stats. For instance if I have something with great OQ but lower CD and something else with great CD but lower OQ, I have no idea which would be best to use, in the event that it calls for a 50/50 split. I take it whatever has a higher average of the 2 stats would be best to use or does it depend on what I'm trying to make?

One other question, is there any other sites that list schematics besides swgcraft.com? I've noticed they are missing several and wondered if there was a site I could use as a cross-reference.

Also thank you VERY much for helping the crafting cluelessly challenged.

Not to stifle this thread, but I've replied (in excruciating detail) to youroriginal message over on the Core System board, Ronaj.

Hello everyone, I'm not sure if this is the right area to post this, I tried posting it in the Core Systems board and haven't gotten an answer, probably because that was most likely the wrong area to put it so I'm reposting it here in the Artisan forum. I need some assistance if possible, now as much as I don't like the fact that they seemed to go overboard on the complexity of making decent items I'm still determined to learn an elite crafting profession. Therefore, I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations on which profession I should attempt. Also I know I can read about various tips on the individual profession boards but if you happen to have any tips that seemed to work particularly well for you that you'd want to share it'd be greatly appreciated too, thanks.
